Web Content Officer (f/m/d)Location:ViennaCentral European University (CEU) is seeking an experienced web content professional to join our Digital Communications and Marketing team.The primary role of the Web Content Officer is to build and enhance CEU’s website strategy, planning and optimization. The Web Content Officer ensures alignment of the university’s narratives and brand consistency across all web pages in collaboration with the Digital Communications and Marketing Manager and key stakeholders.Overseeing the publications of numerous units, the Web Content Officer implements governance practices that encourage SEO-optimized content creation and enable informed measurement of content performance for continual improvement towards meeting business objectives. CEU’s Digital Communications and Marketing Office is responsible for building and maintaining the university’s reputation as a highly ranked, uniquely international, research-intensive institution dedicated to the principles of an open society. The successful candidate will report to the Digital Communications and Marketing Manager and collaborate closely with other content creators and owners.Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage CEU’s website by creating and scheduling exciting, eye-catching content for pillar pages, such as the CEU homepage
- Develop and execute CEU’s website strategy, working with colleagues from academic and administrative units to ensure best practices are being followed
- Conduct website content audits to create clearer information structures and optimize user experience based on search intent
- Provide guidance for CEU staff and faculty on web know-how, including creating templates based on keyword research and hosting webinars on SEO best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the website into broader marketing campaigns
- Monitor web traffic and search engine trends, core algorithm updates and analytics to optimize content and engagement
- Provide input into the conceptualization and development of web designs
- Align with the Web Unit Team to ensure technical aspects of the website bolster content best practices
- Oversee adherence of all web editors to the governance of the website
Qualifications
- A minimum of five to seven years’ experience in managing website content with a focus on-page SEO
- Project management experience in culturally diverse organizations
- Strong web reporting experience, especially related to GA4, Google Search Console and similar tools
- Advanced English-language writing and editing skills (C1 level or higher)
- Tech-savvy, with excellent visual communication and presentation skills
- Experience in coordinating multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
