Vice President, Japanese Client Sales

Global Markets Division for Asia, Japanese Client FX Desk

We are looking for a Vice President to work alongside Global Markets Division for Asia (“AGMD”) – Japanese Client FX Desk (“AGMD-JCFXD”) team members to enhance the FX and Derivatives business for Japanese clients with Singapore office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of relevant banking services to customers to meet revenue targets for team.

  • Build effective relationships with customers to develop revenue opportunities and to deliver a high quality of service.

  • Manage day to day client interactions, identifying and understanding customers’ needs in order to develop product solutions and promote FX and Derivative products.

  • Lead business development activity, such as product specific marketing initiatives.

  • Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to seek solutions and maximize deal opportunities.

  • Work in partnership with colleagues across the region to deliver an integrated service for our customers, as well as to share knowledge on FX and Derivatives.

  • Collaborate with relationship managers across the region to maximize cross-sell opportunities on all facets of the clients’ cross-border exposure.

  • Work in partnership with Compliance to assess new Global Markets products and seek advice on the impact to Bank’s policies and regulatory requirements, as well as to provide input into cross border matrix to mitigate compliance risks.

  • Responsible for the production of technical sections relating to a specific product area of expertise and reviewing the input from less experienced colleagues.

  • Contribute to the development of client or counterparty facing reports, proposals and presentation, converting analysis into conclusions and recommendations.

  • Provide input into deals to ensure pricing, product offerings and the structuring of the deal is aligned to business strategy.

  • Generate and distribute market information relevant to our corporate and institutional clients’ activity and interests.

  • Prepare and review presentation materials, reports and other documents.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and limits, monitor day to day transaction risks.

  • Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum degree qualified

  • Minimum 11 years of banking industry experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sales for Derivatives and FX products

  • Proficient in spoken and written Japanese will be required for coverage and to collaborate with Japanese-speaking markets to communicate effectively with clients. Japanese is the working language.

  • Good managerial or leadership skill.

  • Good relevant industry experience and knowledge of competitor landscape, covering FX or interest rate Derivatives.

  • Good communication skills with ability to influence others and sell products.

  • In depth knowledge in products including but not limited to FX and Derivatives.

  • Strong understanding in local regulations to mitigate risk to the Bank with transactions.
