For a sneak peek into life at allnex, don’t miss our !Position overviewWe are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated UP/VE Technology Scientist to join allnex as an individual contributor supporting and leading R&D projects focused on innovative UP and VE resin technologies! Working hands-on with a collaborative R&D team, you will drive the development of advanced composite formulations that support global growth initiatives.Responsibilities

  • Lead R&D projects to develop new UP and VE products for composites.
  • Address technical challenges through DOEs to meet target product profiles.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D teams, including long-term research, synthesis, and pilot groups.
  • Design lab setups, analyze results, and recommend actions based on findings.
  • Ensure safe lab operations, actively participating in safety programs.
  • Communicate test results and project updates to global teams.
  • Promote UP and VE technologies via presentations, publications, and trade shows.
  • Assist customers with technical troubleshooting.
  • Manage and generate intellectual property for UP and VE technologies.

Required skills and experience

  • Master’s in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (PhD preferred).
  • 10+ years in R&D or technical service, with 5+ years in UP and VE resin development for composites.
  • Expertise in peroxide cure formulations and styrene-free solutions for composites.
  • Strong knowledge of polymer physics, chemistry, and commercializing new products.
  • Proficient in experimental design using statistical tools (e.g., Design-Expert, JMP).
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Proven project leadership and effective collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal abilities in multicultural settings.
  • Self-starter with strong time and project management.
