Offer DescriptionResponsibilities includeThe chair-holder is to represent the subject of “Pharmaceutical & Medicinal Chemistry” both in research and teaching. The research foci should be dedicated to innovative research topics using modern research approaches and methods that take into account the demands of future-oriented drug research.Pharmaceutical & Medicinal Chemistry is a fundamental discipline in pharmacy, integral to both research and teaching. The primary objective is to identify new lead structures as the basis for developing drug candidates. The professorship, embedded in the faculty’s chemical research activities, focuses on synthesizing bioactive molecules. The role is expected to drive innovative research, establishing new directions in active substance synthesis through cross-faculty and cross-university collaborations while maintaining ongoing third-party-funded projects. The future professor should strengthen pharmaceutical research in Tyrol and foster closer integration with core pharmaceutical disciplines (Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmacognosy, Clinical Pharmacy) and related fields (Organic and Theoretical Chemistry). Research should align with the faculty’s strategic priorities, particularly within the Center for Molecular Biosciences and Functional Materials Science.The future professor will be responsible for delivering the full scope of Pharmaceutical Chemistry across all three levels of the Bologna System (B.A., M.A., PhD) within the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy.
