Offer DescriptionWe are seeking a candidate of international academic standing with extensive experience in research and teaching in the field of Computational Materials Science. The research focus of the candidate should be in the area of multiscale materials modelling methods and computer-aided material design. The candidate is expected to:

• have extensive experience in the field of materials modelling, particularly using atomistic approaches (e.g., density functional theory or molecular dynamics), as well as in computer-aided design of structural and functional materials, including their microstructure, interfaces, and surfaces. Experience with mesoscale modelling is advantageous, thereby covering topics such as plasticity, microstructure stability, interface design, or data-driven material development.
• have experience in acquiring and coordinating funded projects, as well as using high-performance computing (HPC) facilities.
• possess experience in application-oriented research with industrial companies, evidenced, for example, by joint publications and patents.
• be willing to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly with the institutes and departments of the Montanuniversität.
• be prepared to contribute appropriately to university organizational and administrative tasks, as well as to evaluations.

In this classification the gross monthly salary for full-time employment is € 6.362,50 (14 x per year).
