Offer DescriptionMontanuniversität Leoben is seeking a personality of international scientific standing who will represent the field of ‘Resource Mineralogy’ in research and teaching.Future research activities will focus on investigations into the properties of primary mineral raw materials with a focus on socially relevant raw materials, in particular critical mineral raw materials, strategic raw materials and raw materials for the energy transition. The core competence of mineralogical-chemical and structural characterisation of geomaterials (as used, for example, for the analytical proof of origin of raw materials) is to be further expanded at the Chair. The Chair of Resource Mineralogy and the Department of Applied Geosciences and Geophysics are involved in international education and research programmes; the languages of instruction at the department for students at Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral level are German and English.Specific RequirementsGreat importance is attached to the willingness to co-operate with the other chairs of the Department of Applied Geosciences and Geophysics and other chairs of the Center of Excellence for Materials at the Montanuniversität Leoben.Employment requirements are a relevant doctorate, a habilitation or an equivalent scientific qualification.Applicants are expected to have teaching and research experience as well as the didactic skills to organise excellent teaching and to have demonstrated experience in the conception and management of research projects or the ability to apply their knowledge to business problems in the course of their previous professional activities. In this bracket, the monthly salary stipulated for full-time employment in the collective agreement is € 6.362,50 gross (14 times per year).
