As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Solid State Physics, in the Research Unit “Correlations: Theory and Experiments”, TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) limited to expected 4 years (30 hours/week).Expected start: September 2025.Tasks:
- Pursue research on the theory of complex quantum materials, with a focus on unconventional superconductivity and its interplay with other exotic phases of electronic matter
- Participate in scientific conferences, workshops, and events to present research findings and engage with the academic community
- Write and publish scientific papers and complete a PhD dissertation
- Contribute to teaching activities, including supporting courses and mentoring junior students
- Assistance in organizational and administrative tasks
Your profile:
- Master’s or diploma degree in Physics, or a closely related field
- Strong ability to conduct independent, methodical, and responsible research
- Ideally, with experience in the field of solid state physics or strongly correlated systems
- Excellent oral and written English skills
- Enthusiasm for research and innovation, with interest in both scientific discovery and practical applications
- Strong analytical thinking, strong problem-solving skills
- An open communication style and the ability to work creatively and collaboratively
- Positive attitude and contribution to the work environment
