As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Materials Science and Technology, in the Research Group for 3D Printing and Biofabrication TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant post-doc (all genders) limited until 04.08.2025 or at the latest until the duration of leave of absence for 32 hours/week. Expected start: March 2025.Tasks:

  • We are looking for a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the research group of 3D Printing and Biofabrication
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for advanced material engineering, developing and optimizing material characteristics for optimized vascularisation of 3D cellular matrices and bioprinting parameters for both extrusion and laser-assisted bioprinting techniques
  • This work will involve using human pluripotent stem cell-derived cells and various bioink solutions

Your profile:

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine or relevant area
  • Minimum 2 years of postdoctoral experience
  • Strong background in vascular mechanobiology, specifically applying simultaneous mechanical cues on endothelial cells in vitro
  • Experience working with tailored hydrogels and with flow chambers
  • Interest in learning tissue engineering and bioprinting techniques
  • Strong knowledge in molecular biology, biochemical and immunological techniques such as cell culture, western blot, flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry and transcriptomics
  • Competence to establish new methods, to analyze and visually reflect scientific data
  • Proven experience in project writing and fund acquisition
  • Strong publication record in the relevant research area
  • Experience in student supervision
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary and international environment
  • Proficient in English, both speaking and writing
