As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, in the Research Unit of , TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (non-tenured post-doctoral position) limited to expected two years for 40 hours/week. Expected start: March 2025 or later, by mutual agreement.Tasks:

  • Conduct high quality mathematical research in the field of Probability Theory, in one of the focus areas of the research unit Probability: statistical mechanics, discrete probability, random geometry, Markov chain mixing, Stochastic PDEs
  • Independent teaching or participation in teaching, in the Bachelor and/or Master programs
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks of the research unit

Your profile:

  • Completion of a doctorate
  • An excellent publication and research profile in theoretical Probability
  • Experience in national and international research cooperation
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of German is not required, but it is appreciated
  • Teaching experience in probability and/or statistics courses/tutorials and in autonomous organisation of exercise sessions and seminars will be appreciated
