This is an exciting opportunity to join our afternoon shift where the working hours are Monday-Thursday 3pm-11pm, Friday 1pm-9pm.In a nutshell you will be responsible for:You’ll be responsible for meticulously soldering brass parts using specialized techniques, ensuring a strong and aesthetically pleasing finish.What you are already great at:

  • Soldering brass components together according to specifications and assembly drawings.
  • Operating and maintaining soldering equipment, including torches, soldering irons, and related tools.
  • Preparing brass surfaces for soldering by cleaning and applying necessary fluxes.
  • Applying solder to brass joints with precision and control, ensuring proper flow and penetration.
  • Inspecting soldered joints for defects like leaks, cracks, or uneven solder distribution.
  • Reworking or repairing non-conforming soldered joints to meet quality specifications.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper handling and storage of brass components and tools.
  • Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including proper ventilation and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Potentially involved in the preparation of brazing solutions or silver solder applications (depending on the role).
  • Following documented procedures and keep accurate records of production activities.
  • May be required to learn and implement new soldering techniques as needed.
  • Ensuring work instructions and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Recognising and reporting exceptional requirements or shortfalls for parts and components.
  • Training and developing new team members to the standard required.
  • Reporting any issues to the team leader.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping standards and ensure 5S standards are maintained.
  • Maintain good communications and relationships throughout the company.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and make suggestions for improvement.

For this role we would need you to demonstrate:

  • Prior experience in soldering brass or other metals (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of safe brass handling practices preferred.
