The Treaty provides for a global verification regime, including a network of 337 facilities worldwide, a communications system, an international data centre and on-site inspections to monitor compliance.Organizational SettingThis position is located in the Office of the Director, International Data Centre Division (IDC).Reporting LinesUnder the supervision of the SnT2025 Project Executive, the Director of International Data Centre (IDC) Division, following the guidance of and in close cooperation with the SnT2025 Coordinator, to:Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the SnT2025 event preparations with developing, maintaining and implementing the SnT2025 project plan using the CTBTO project management tools and lessons learned from past SnT conferences. Propose solutions for the implementation and execution of the event;
- Provide regular reporting on the project implementation including progress, risk, exceptions in the execution of the project timeline and assist in mitigating actions to ensure timely execution of the project plan;
- Coordinate with various members of the project team responsible for venue, participant services, scientific programme, High-Level elements and protocol, Information Technology (hardware, software and hybrid solutions), promotion and support functions;
- Facilitate in-person and online meetings of the project teams and take minutes;
- Keep records (electronically) of all SnT2025 related documents in their final versions at preparation phase, implementation and post-implementation stages of the conference;
- Facilitate communication with exhibitors, internal and external, and sponsors of SnT2025. Propose solutions for the exhibitions and coordinate requirements for the exhibits and exhibitors;
- Provide support in the event execution at the venue and of online components of SnT2025;
- Provide assistance in coordinating event logistics;
- Assist in the preparation of SnT2025 guidance documents and preparation of post-event documents;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- University degree in event management, media, marketing, international relations, business administration or related field.
Work Experience and Qualifications
- At least five (5) years’ relevant practical work experience, including involvement with the preparation and implementation of large-scale meetings and conferences, part of which should have been in an international environment.
- Additional qualification in science, engineering or related field is an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of the CTBT, its verification regime and the work of the CTBTO is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential;
- Experience with event management software is an asset;
- Experience in project management and the use of project management methodologies are essential.
- Very good organizational and social skills;
- Good team player.
Languages
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential;
- Knowledge of other official CTBTO languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is desirable.
