Job Title: Site Manager (or Senior Site Manager) – Airport Operations
Location: West London
Contract Type: Contract 6 months
Salary: Up to £500 per day
Job Purpose:
The Site Manager at an airport will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the airport facility services contract, ensuring that services are delivered to the highest standard. The role involves managing teams, liaising with clients, maintaining compliance with aviation and health & safety regulations, and ensuring operational efficiency within a dynamic airport environment.Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations of all contracted services, including cleaning, security, and maintenance, ensuring high service standards.
Implement and monitor operational procedures, ensuring they align with airport security, safety regulations, and our clients service standards.
Ensure timely resolution of operational issues to maintain uninterrupted airport services.
Oversee resource planning and allocation to ensure optimal staffing and equipment use.Client Relationship Management:
Act as the primary point of contact between our client and the airport management team.
Regularly engage with clients to understand their needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
Conduct regular site visits and client meetings, ensuring that all client requests are promptly addressed.
Ensure contract requirements and performance targets are met or exceeded.Team Leadership and Development:
Manage and lead a diverse team, including supervisors, cleaners, and security staff, ensuring high levels of engagement, productivity, and morale.
Conduct regular performance reviews, training, and development initiatives for staff.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff members in line with operational requirements.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and safety awareness.Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure all site activities are conducted in full compliance with Health and Safety standards, particularly in an airport environment where safety is critical.
Conduct regular risk assessments and site audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Ensure all staff are trained and follow airport security regulations, including emergency response procedures.
Manage incidents, near misses, and accidents in a timely and effective manner.Quality Control:
Implement and oversee quality management systems, ensuring services delivered meet the required specifications and standards.
Conduct periodic inspections and audits to ensure contract compliance.
Identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance service delivery.
Ensure all staff are aligned with Mitie’s values, standards, and objectives.Experience:
Proven experience in a facilities management role, ideally within an airport or a similarly regulated environment.
Experience managing large teams and complex operations across multiple services (e.g., cleaning, maintenance, and security).
Client relationship management experience, including handling high-level clients and stakeholders.Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Financial acumen with experience managing budgets.
Knowledge of airport security and safety regulations.
Proficiency in IT systems and Microsoft Office SuiteQualifications:
IOSH or NEBOSH Health and Safety qualification (preferred).
Recognized facilities management qualification (desirable).
