Job descriptionOur client is a Tier 1 main contractor that works in the water & civils sectors and they are looking to recruit for Site Engineers for their operations in Leeds.DescriptionReporting to Site Agent, the Site Engineer will take ownership of the survey control for the project and set out detailed works as per the contract drawings ensuring that checks are made on a regular basis.Key Responsibilities:Promote the company cardinal rules and establish safe working cultures and practicesOffering technical advice on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople and operativesManaging the site and parts of construction projectsOverseeing building work and ensuring the quality of the workSetting out, levelling and surveying the siteProduce 2 week look ahead in conjunction with the Site AgentProduce site diaries and allocation sheetsProduction of ITP check sheets in line with the ITP and specificationEnsuring the plans, drawings and quantities are accurate for calculationsSupervising site security, health and safetyOrganising and overseeing material and human resourcesManaging the design documents supplied by the clientSet out detailed works as per the contract drawings ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basisLiaising with the local authority to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-lawsReporting progress and other updates back to clientsPlanning the work efficiently and adapting to any setbacks or difficultiesResolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any timeEnsure work is delivered defect/snag freeThe successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:EssentialExperience setting out on Civil Engineering projectsKnowledge of construction methods, Health and safety and legal regulationsSpecific experience with drainage, earthworks, structures and waterCSCS CardCable avoidance trainingSelf-driven, results oriented with a positive outlookAble to communicate well at all levelsDesirableHave some experience with AutoCADTemporary works Co-ordinationDegree qualified in civil engineering or HNC or equivalent in civil engineering as a minimumNEBOSH or IOSH

Expected salary

£35000 – 40000 per year
