Senior Support Worker – Residential Childcare (EBD)Hours: 35 per week | Pay: £16/hour | Sleep-ins: £50/night
Annual Equivalent: £29,120I’m working on behalf of a valued client to recruit an experienced Senior Support Worker for a specialist residential home supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.About the Role:As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll lead by example-guiding shifts, supporting your team, and creating a safe, stable, and nurturing space for children who have experienced adversity. You’ll play a vital part in helping them feel secure, valued, and capable of moving forward positively.What You’ll Do:·Lead shifts, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth daily operations
·Be the senior point of contact in incidents and offer on-call support
·Build lasting, trust-based relationships with young people
·Help staff understand and apply care plans and behaviour strategies
·Record-keeping, safeguarding, and petty cash management
·Engage in planning and attending healthcare appointments
·Support school/vocational attendance and personal growth
·Take part in home activities, trips, and holidaysShift Pattern:·Mixture of long (15hr) and short (8hr) shifts
·Average of 35 hours/week on a rolling rota
·Sleep-in shifts required, paid at £50/night
·Weekend and Bank Holiday shifts includedWhat We’re Looking For:·Experience in children’s residential settings (EBD experience ideal)
·NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or similar
·UK driving licence
·Calm under pressure, good communicator, and strong team player
