The senior NPI Program Manager (PM) will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of New Product Introduction projects through to industrialization.You will become a key interface to manage internal stakeholders within HVDC portfolio, using a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts, as well as more general management and leadership skills.Job DescriptionRole and ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Own and Deliver portfolio of software development programs utilising proven methodologies in SW Program Management e.g. PMI ACP, Agile and SAFe
  • Create and maintain detailed program plans while controlling requirements/scope, holding the responsible parties accountable to deadlines, maintaining risk logs, leading project meetings and chairing agile ceremonies
  • Liaise with stakeholders such as Product leaders, Principal engineers, EHS, Safety, Quality, IP, Cyber and People leaders for timely & quality execution of the software development projects.
  • Reporting to key stakeholders – Status, KPIs, Budgets, Risk Register, supporting Decisions & Escalations where needed
  • Motivate matrix team to deliver on scope, time, cost (full budget control) and quality requirements following proper gate review processes, and deliver a cyber secure automation and controls system
  • Coordinate where necessary with global teams, other functions including ITO, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and Marketing
  • Coordinating with other Stakeholders & Functions to mitigate dependencies e.g. C&P, V&V, Product Care, EHS, Safety, Quality, IP, Cyber, Technical Regs & Standards.
  • Program Increment release paperwork and NPI Gate Reviews, Aligning Objectives with Program Sponsors, Product Managers, Principle Engineers & Team

Essential requirements

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree and extensive program management experience of complex software development projects, preferably in Industrial Automation and Control Systems domain
  • Formal Project Management certifications such as PMI-ACP, Cert. Scrum Master, Product Owner. And experience with project planning software such as Primavera 6, MS Project, or similar, is required.
  • Experienced in Software Program Management (using technology stack such as C/C++/Embedded RTOS/C#/.Net/Full Stack etc.), and able to guide the team with best industry practices.
  • Experience of combining Agile software development processes with formal planning methods to address both software task management and traditional milestone tracking / resource loading.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including experience presenting to executive level stakeholders. Ability to interact effectively with different business departments and team members.
  • Excellent change management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate the volatilities, uncertainties, complexities and ambiguities around managing the programs.
  • Natural Problem Solver, with desire to make an impact & to continuously find ways to maximise the team’s operational efficiency.

Desired experience and skills

  • Experience working with HVDC or any industrial automation and control system and/or similar engineering domain
  • Experience in the past of hands-on Software development/delivery of controls systems and/or components e.g. embedded real-time development and/or windows based software development projects
  • Knowledge of IEC 62443 & other cyber security standards
