Let’s shape the future together!The position is temporary for the duration of the absence of an employee.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsSpecific RequirementsYour personal sphere of play:Your future position is at Christa Schleper’s Archaea Biology and Ecogenomics Unit.The unit is part of the Department of Functional and Evolutionary Ecology at the Faculty of Life Sciences. We study the ecology and evolution of archaea using genomic and microbiological techniques.This position is a replacement position, which is limited to four months.Your future tasks:Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of archaea genomic research and proteomics.
  • You publish internationally and give lectures.
  • You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.

This is part of your personality:

  • Completed doctoral/PhD studies in subject Biology/Microbiology/Biochemistry
  • Outstanding dissertation
  • Experience in the field of proteomics and biochemistry as well as in the cultivation of anaerobic microorganisms
  • Research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-relevant media
  • IT knowledge in the field of functional genomics
  • Excellent knowledge of English (C1) / other foreign language
  • Team player and high social/communicative skills
