Offer DescriptionYour Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordination and implementation of the machine element design exercises and the implementation of the machine element 1 fatigue strength exercise. Product development methods and their integration into teaching. Supervision of BA & MA theses.
  • Theoretical and experimental treatment of issues in the field of tribology and fatigue strength. Publication of research results.
  • Preparation of research results for didactically effective use in teaching. Preparation of teaching aids and teaching materials. Recording and documentation of all scientific activities, also with regard to R&E areas. Management of the AVL-TU Graz Transmission Centre.

Your ProfileAdmission Requirements

  • Relevant PhD
  • At least three years teaching experience (preferably in higher education and with evaluation results of previous teaching)
  • Very good English language skills
  • Very good German language skills (Level C1)
  • Proven practical experience in product development and tribology

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 69,060.59 for a fulltime position. In addition to its teaching and research activities, the institute has intensive industrial collaborations. In the area of teaching, we aim to teach students everything they need to know about machine elements and development methodology. We teach a broad, interdisciplinary spectrum of methods for design, simulation, testing and development in the field of machine elements. Within the framework of our industrial cooperation, we create a network with the field of teaching by awarding numerous Master’s theses, Bachelor’s theses, dissertations and scientific publications. We work on projects with a focus on the following areas: • Drive technology • Model based systems engineering MBSE • Product Lifecycle Management • Sensor technology We are partners for the entire development process and cover it completely through our multi-layered areas of activity. The transfer of knowledge between the various fields of work guarantees that there is always an optimum increase in experience and that this can be used as “lessons learned” for new projects or for our students. Interdisciplinary action is an important maxim at our institute. We make the best possible use of the resources of TU Graz and other universities.
