Keys Group is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Regulation 44 Visitor to carry out monthly visits to our homes in the East of the country. This is an exciting new role for a candidate with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You must have the ability to carry out audit checks and provide an Ofsted ready report of your findings detailing how the children and young people in the home have progressed since your last visit. The ideal candidate would be a person with a residential child care back ground with at least two years registered management experience.The Reg 44 visitor plays a vital role in the homes performance and development ensuring they are always Ofsted ready, so experience and expertise of working directly with Ofsted is an advantage· One important focus for these visits will be to scrutinise how the home is supporting children to enjoy and achieve. The person making the visits will wish to be satisfied that the home has an effective approach to behaviour management.· Visits should routinely examine records of restraint and missing person’s reports, to check that the home provides stable, safe and secure care.· The visit wherever possible includes private interviews with children and young people living at the home and their parents, relatives or carers. Staff employed at the home must also be interviewed privately.· A written report on the conduct of the home must be prepared after the visit and made available to HMCI, the registered manager, and anyone else with responsibility for the management of the home.Essential –· QCF/NVQ Level 3 and 4 or equivalent· Two years’ experience of managing a Residential Children’s Home· Full driving license and access to a car is needed.· Excellent report writing skills· Experience of working with Ofsted RegulationsDesirable –· QCF Level 5 or equivalent· Experience of completing Regulation 44 visitsBenefitsWe offer a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) and other excellent benefits.Keys GroupThe Keys Group are the second largest provider of residential child care in the UK, with 94% of our services rated by OFSTED as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’.
