For our team in Innsbruck, we are now looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join us as a Quantum Product Specialist.The RoleThe Quantum Product Specialist is a new role to Alpine Quantum Technologies GmbH (AQT) and reflects the need to support the commercial team in times of on-going market penetration experienced by our quantum instruments and quantum computing hardware product lines. The role entails identifying and engaging with customers from within the cold atom and trapped ion communities, as well as High Performance Computing (HPC) facilities and research institutions that are progressing to quantum computing. The evolution of this key position within AQT is to be a reliable and knowledgeable point of contact for many customers and collaborators looking to use AQT hardware products in their experiments and day-to-day activities. Further responsibilities will be to ensure that the needs and desires of the various market segments utilizing AQT’s hardware products (as well as any changes to the evolving market forces) are recorded and communicated to the relevant parties within AQT. As this is a customer facing role, travel to and attendance at various conferences, exhibitions and customer sites will be involved.This role would suit an entrepreneurial scientist who wishes to know more about commercial activities of quantum technology companies and has a passion for positive scientific communications.Responsibilities

  • Identify applicable customers and arrange communications to enable engagement.
  • Formulate responses to new customer inquiries and qualifying leads for further actions.
  • Work with product and production teams to achieve a deep product knowledge. Actively support potential customers with technical communications based on this product awareness and apply at every stage of the pre-sales process.
  • In conjunction with product and marketing teams, develop and create technical documents including case studies, product data-sheets and other key collateral in support of on-going commercial activities.
  • Working with product and sales teams within AQT to ensure product value proposition and marketing communications are relevant and up-to-date.
  • In combination with the sales team, assist with the definition and submission of relevant documentation to public tendering processes.

Required skills:

  • PhD in an atomic, molecular and optical (AMO) physics discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in AMO physics experiments (e.g., lasers, laser cooling, laser spectroscopy, optics, microwaves, vacuum systems).
  • Willingness to support or work within a commercial team. Experience working with customers is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Ability to rapidly understand customer’s application and apply AQT products to customer’s needs.
  • Discipline and experience to record work and drive commercial productivity via a CRM.
  • Empathic to customer needs with the ability to record, analyze and communicate such needs to colleagues.
  • Preference to work in a collaborative environment with highly-skilled colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.

Your salaryCommensurate with your experience and skills, and typically higher than the legal minimum.
