NHS Grampian is delighted at the prospect of expanding the Anaesthetic Department at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, Scotland. This full-time post will primarily be based at Dr Gray’s Hospital. Specialist interests will be encouraged and there may be an opportunity, for interested applicants to work at other hospitals within Grampian or other Health Boards. Individualised job planning can be tailored to the requirements of both service and applicants; this could include flexible / part-time / annualised work patterns.Dr Gray’s Hospital is a District General Hospital situated in Elgin in the North-East of Scotland. Inverness lies 35 miles to the West with Aberdeen 65 miles to the East.The Scottish Government have committed to re-establish a Consultant led Obstetric service in the hospital. This will include establishment of a new resident
non-consultant rota tier and expansion of the existing Consultant team to at least 12 Whole Time Equivalent in order to meet the Royal College of Anaesthetists Obstetric Anaesthesia requirements.Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post). For more information visitApplicants should be in possession of FRCA.Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview. Alternatively, applicants should possess a CESR / CESR (CP).Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made.
