Offer DescriptionThe Medical University of Vienna (MedUni Vienna) with more than 6.500 employees and about 8.500 students is one of the largest academic schools in the EU area. At the Center for Physiology and Pharmacology of the MedUni Vienna a Full Professorship Position for Pharmacology according to §98 University Act 2002 is available, starting January 1, 2026. • Graduation in medicine with a subject specific doctorate or an equivalent foreign university degree
• Qualification as a specialist for pharmacology and toxicology or equivalent domestic and foreign authorization
• Outstanding scientific qualification in the field of pharmacology
• Successful and continuous acquisition of competitive third-party funds
• Leadership and management experience, including gender and diversity competence
• Experience in translational research, ideally with successful implementation of preclinical or clinical studies
• Educational and didactic qualification (evaluation results regarding teaching activities)
• International work experience

Specific RequirementsExpected from the applicant:

• Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research in terms of promoting the field of pharmacology and the research clusters and centers described in the University`s development plan
• Establishment of translational research concepts with the aim of transferring innovative findings into clinical application
• Commitment to teaching and training medical students, particularly in the teaching of pharmacological principles and innovative concepts for personalised medicine
• Representation of the subject area in the medical curriculum aimed at integrative and practice oriented training
• Promotion of young scientists and mentoring of doctoral and post-doctoral students.
• Competence in employee leadership and motivation
• Commitment to quality orientation and willingness to continuously enhance personal management skills
