The Centre’s Department of Microbiology and Ecosystem Science assembles an international, ambitious and committed team and offers an interdisciplinary scientific environment, cutting-edge laboratories and a creative working atmosphere. The PostDoc will be part of the nitrification group headed by Michael Wagner and Holger Daims.The employment duration is 3 years.Your future tasks:

• Quantification of ammonia oxidizing archaea and nitrification rates in agricultural soils
• Incubation experiments of soil samples with stable-isotope labeled substrates
• Stable isototope probing experiments
• Data analysis
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences
• Supervision of trainees and students

This is part of your profile:

• A PhD degree in microbiology, soil sciences, or a related field.
• Experience in soil microbiology and measurement of physicochemical soil parameters.
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals
• A proactive, curious, and independent thinker who is motivated to push the boundaries of knowledge.
• The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, international research environment.
