Some roles do not require specialist skills, and training can always be provided, however some of the skills (though not all) that we are looking for are listed below – having a range of them increases the chance of being appointed:
engineering * Experience using CAD software (Solidworks, Fusion 360) and experience of 3D printer use
physics, nuclear medicine * Mechanical Engineering background – in particular, knowledge of materials anddynamics, using an Instron machineBefore confirming your appointment, you must provide valid right-to-work documentation, such as a current passport and any applicable visa (sharecode).What we offerPGTA roles are offered under an average-hour contract, meaning your total agreed hours will be evenly distributed over the duration of the contract. This arrangement ensures that you receive consistent, prorated monthly payments throughout your employment period. All new PGTAs will start at the first spinal point of Grade 6. PGTAs with prior experience from the previous academic session will advance by one spinal point.At UCL, employed PGTAs are entitled to sick leave and pay, as set out in the . PGTAs qualify for sick pay, which is automatically included in their normal monthly salary as they are on an Averaged Hours contract. Additionally, annual leave pay is also included automatically.
