As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.In the Service Unit of Educational Technologies TU Wien is offering a position as PHP Software Engineer (all genders) immediately (Full-time, entry possible with 30 hours per week).Tasks:

  • In-house development of Moodle extensions in an agile setting
  • Maintenance and further development of existing features and APIs to TISS, Opencast, and other systems
  • Participation in the entire development cycle, from requirements analysis for new system components in user-centered processes, through architecture conception, and design, to the implementation of reusable components, testing, and support in the delivery process
  • Participation in Moodle projects (MoodleMoot DACH, etc.)
  • Ongoing training in the area of software development
  • Quality assurance and creation of (technical) documentation
  • Participation in the Moodle community as part of the Academic Moodle Cooperation

Your profile:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in web development (full stack) with PHP 8, Javascript, CSS, HTML5, MOODLE, MySQL, PostgreSQL
  • Experience with tools and methods in the field of software development (e.g., Continuous Integration, JIRA, GitHub, GitLab, Bamboo/Jenkins, Confluence, Scrum, Redmine, etc.)
  • Experience with object-oriented programming
  • Ideally familiar with university structures
  • Familiarity with the principles of REST interfaces
  • Digital competencies and analytical skills
