You will provide strategic planning and operational execution support to the Head of Operational Excellence. You will deliver Operational excellence aligned with the overall Clinical Development strategy and vision. The successful applicant will have a significant impact on the businesses program improvements, operational efficiencies, drive initiatives to strengthen Development objectives. This role will lead the footprint expansion, optimise the way Novartis delivers clinical development portfolio, with better data quality, short timelines to approval and higher phase III success rates.Key requirements but not limited to the following:Supports, Head Op. Ex CD in designing, evolving and driving the global clinical development strategic vision.In conjunction with Head Op Ex, collaborate with P&O, Learning, and CD managers to establish a cohesive structured approach to enhancing CD capabilities.Be a voice of CD Community in UK and support the local team of Clinical Development Directors (CDDs) and Clinical Development Medical Directors (CDMDs) to establish themselves as a unified local CD community. Plan, organize and execute team building initiatives and programs.Work with Head, Op Ex and Head Clinical Scientific Experts (CSEs) to execute strategies, fostering career development pathway’s for CSEs, champion CSE role within the CD team and across development LFs.Support local CD leaders in developing a strategy for and in executing an internal fellowship program- and support trained clinical senior talent sourcing from outside Novartis.Portfolio and project leadership of global talent development and capability building initiatives.Support the Head of Operational Excellence, Clinical Development in developing a comprehensive capability development strategy aligned with the organization’s goals.Education and background:Master’s degree or equivalent; advanced sciences degree preferred (MD/ PhD)8+ years industry experience with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant and fundamental understanding of Clinical Drug Development.Experience in banking/ consulting focusing on pharma sectorTrack record in enabling effective international collaborationStrong evidence of strategic thinking, problem solving capabilitiesWhy Novartis: Helping people with disease and their families takes more than innovative science.
