The Treaty provides for a global verification regime, including a network of 337 facilities worldwide, a communications system, an international data centre and on-site inspections to monitor compliance.Organizational SettingThis position is located in the Equipment and Implementation Section, On-Site Inspection Division (OSI).Reporting LinesUnder the supervision of the Chief, Equipment and Implementation Section, to:Duties and ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for the development, maintenance, testing, functionality checks and procurement of OSI equipment related to noble gas techniques, and act as the OSI/EP point of contact with other Divisions and with suppliers on such topics;Oversee the technical progress of the new project on the Design, Construction and Delivery of a Prototype Argon-37 Processing and Measurement System for OSI (Ar-37 project);Ensure completeness of entries in the equipment and instrumentation management system for OSI (EIMO) regarding noble gas techniques and ensure availability and readiness of this equipment, as necessary, for use during planned OSI testing, familiarisation, training and exercise activities in 2025;Implement the noble gas related lessons identified during the 2024 OSI Build-Up Exercise;Review and finalize the drafting of noble gas related Quality Management System (QMS) documents in order for those documents to be approved prior to the conduct of the next IFE.Assist in the design, preparation and conduct of OSI/EP activities in general;Perform other duties as assigned.Education

  • Advanced university degree in nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, physics or a related field.

Work Experience and QualificationsAt least seven (7) years of relevant working experience in planning, conducting and quality control of noble gas measurements and in the maintenance of noble gas sampling and detection equipment, preferably
in an international environment.Familiarity with hardware and software related to acquisition and analysis of noble gas samples is essential.Understanding of the CTBT and the provisions on OSI is an asset.Hands-on experience on current OSI noble gas equipment, systems and procedures is an asset.Languages

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential;
  • Knowledge of other official CTBTO languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is desirable.
