We are looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Epilepsy Rare Austria who is agile, has a drive to build strong, long-lasting relationships, a passion for pioneering new ideas, and a flair for an insight-driven strategic approach to their responsibilitiesAbout the roleAre you passionate about advancing medical science and improving patient lives? UCB is looking for a dedicated MSL to join our Medical Alps team, focusing on rare neurological diseases such as Myasthenia Gravis and severe epilepsy syndromes including Dravet and Lennox-Gastaut. In your role, you will lead peer-level scientific discussions with clinicians and researchers working in neurological, neuromuscular and autoimmune disease. You will develop strong relationships of trust and mutual support built on common interests and map new strategies for patient value creation.Who you’ll work with:In your role, you are the scientific discussion partner who drives interactive partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders, including healthcare professionals (HCPs), national and international Thought Leaders (Key opinion leaders: KOLs), patient organizations, and policymakers to advance standard of care and facilitate optimal patient care within designated therapy area. You work both externally and internally, closely with an integrated team across functions, and report to the Head of Medical Alps.What will you do:
- Engage with key opinion leaders, investigators, and healthcare stakeholders.
- Develop and refine scientific expertise through regular interactions.
- Manage stakeholder engagement and build relationships with centers of excellence.
- Host medical education events and facilitate connections among thought leaders.
- Collect customer insights using digital tools to enhance patient and healthcare provider value.
- Collaborate with Market Access and Commercial teams to support local access and align activities.
- Attend national and international congresses.
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
- MSc. within the field of Life Sciences or MD preferably in neurology (PhD preferred)
- Strong communication/presentation skills. Languages: German (native) and English business fluent
- Work experience as MSL required
- Proven track record of rare disease expertise is a significant advantage and highly preferred
- Proven track-record having worked within Neurology with existing network of HCPs preferred
- Business acumen with a good understanding of the local healthcare system
- Influencing skills, characterized by building trust, and maintaining consistency
- Team player with a cross-functional working mindset
- Strong in building relationships with key stakeholders, both externally and internally
- Intuitive and strong project management skills
