Do you want to be part of an exciting and multi-disciplinary research group?Here is your chance to contribute to science that makes a difference!We are looking for a Master Student (f/m/d) in Leukemia and Chromatin Biology to join the group of Davide Seruggia. In this responsible role, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary competence center for pediatric oncology and to have a direct influence on the development of new cancer therapies.The group ( ) is interested in gene regulation in the context of pediatric cancer and focuses on the study of non-coding regulatory sequences (enhancers) as well as protein complexes involved in the control of gene expression. We use genome editing (CRISPR screening, CRISPRi/a, dense mutagenesis), chromatin profiling (ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, ATAC-seq), imaging, proteomics, mouse models and computational approaches to identify and characterize cancer vulnerabilities.Relevant publications: ; ; ; ; .Your responsibilities

  • Learn to take on ambitious research projects in collaboration with PhD Students and Postdocs in the lab. You will contribute from the start, including planning of experiments and data acquisition. You will provide thorough and creative thinking that makes these projects a success
  • Learn how to navigate the literature and community resources to keep abreast of the latest developments and to identify information, data, and methods to integrate in your own work

Your profileWhat you bring for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology)
  • Excellent technical skills (cell culture, basic molecular biology, statistics and data analysis)
  • Curiosity, motivation, attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German not required)
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn
