Job overview and responsibilities
As a Salesforce Technical Manager at Syensqo, reporting to the Head of CRM Platform, your focus will be on the tactical and operational management of the Salesforce platform. Your role will emphasize maintenance, platform performance, and supporting projects, ensuring that the Salesforce environment operates smoothly and efficiently. You will manage a worldwide-based team of experts who work transversely across different squads to ensure that the Salesforce platform operates with high efficiency, security, and compliance, aligning with the platform’s strategic goals and operational excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead change, leverage the latest Salesforce features and best practices, and put them into practice, all while striving to keep the Salesforce instance lean and maintainable. You will continuously seek improvements, develop your skills, and apply them to drive the highest engineering quality across the platform.

Platform Management: Oversee the management of Salesforce KPIs, ensuring that the platform evolves in line with company strategy, security, and technological advancements. Key performance indicators (KPIs) like Adoption, Performance, Code Coverage, and Customization Level are critical elements to be managed.

Team Management: Lead and mentor a dedicated team of internal staff, fostering their professional development, growth, and overall well-being. Additionally, oversee the onboarding and management of external consultants involved in platform activities, ensuring seamless integration and collaboration.

Community Leadership: Animate the Salesforce Developers community, fostering a collaborative environment where ideas and best practices are shared and cultivated.

Technical Best Practices: Drive the definition of technical best practices, security policies, and design patterns through up-to-date documentation and coaching sessions.

Drive DevOps Strategy: Along with the DevOps Engineer, align on the strategy to build a DevOps team and practices based on low-code release management tools (e.g., Copado) to guarantee smooth, effective, and compliant deployment processes, while promoting citizen development on Salesforce.

Conflict Resolution: Utilize your strong collaboration skills to find compromises and arbitrate in cases of conflict between adhering to best practices and meeting business requirements. Ensure that conflicts are resolved smoothly, without the need for higher management intervention.

Manage Platform Efficiencies and Industrialization Initiatives: Propose and drive technical projects focused on enhancing platform efficiencies and industrialization processes (e.g., testing automation), ensuring technical excellence and scalability within the Salesforce environment.

Drive QA Strategy: Along with QA Lead, align on the Testing Strategy and Best Practices to be followed by both maintenance and Projects, continuously improve testing process on testing execution lead time, implement automations and increase quality.
Education and experience
-
Experience: 7+ years of experience in Salesforce technical roles, with at least 3 years in a management position within a complex ecosystem. Proven experience in managing Salesforce teams and projects.

Salesforce Expertise: Deep knowledge of Salesforce products, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, E-Commerce (old CloudCraze) and Pardot, with previous hands-on experience in Salesforce development and architecture. Previous experience with low-code release management tools (Eg. Copado) is a key element.

SAFe Experience: Previous experience working in a SAFe environment is a key plus.

Strategic Execution: Ability to implement a Salesforce technical strategy that aligns with the company’s CRM and broader business objectives.

Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment.

Certifications: Salesforce certifications in Sales Cloud, Platform Developer I, and Sharing & Visibility are a must. Other Salesforce certifications are a significant plus.

Communication Skills: excellent capabilities to collaborate remotely with a diverse set of team members and stakeholders, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior management.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related engineering field
Language skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. French and Portuguese are a plus.
