Job Description | HRIS Senior AdvisorDepartment: Human ResourcesLocation: London or Manchester (hybrid role – minimum two days a week in the office)The RoleYou will be joining the team at an exciting stage of our HR journey with significant investment in our HR technology and process design, with the implementation of Workday and other technologies to support the HR team in their effort to become a more strategic partner to the business.You will provide functional knowledge and expertise on local HR process/policy requirements coupled with demonstrating in-depth technical configuration expertise of Workday.You will work closely with the team to support key responsibilities throughout the project implementation and beyond.Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as an expert functional specialist for Workday technology including HR transactions, business process configuration and design, including advising the HR team, managers, and employees in the proper use of the system.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather requirements and translate those business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Workday platform. Evaluate and provide recommendations with alternative solutions to system limitations.
  • Actively researches for new enhancements and releases in Workday, continually seeking opportunities for consistency, harmonisation, simplification in technical design and configuration whilst ensuring a custom-centric people experience and with a downstream system impact mindset.
  • Co-own the delivery and prioritisation of change requests, document changes and process requirements, providing impact analysis and implement solutions in accordance with internal governance procedures.
  • Acts as an escalation point for issues related to configuration, business processes, notifications. Analyse, diagnose and resolve complex technical production issues.
  • Build, test, and deploy Workday configuration as part of agreed projects and changes.
  • Optimise Workday reporting tools such as PRISM, People Analytics, Worksheets, Slides and Discovery Boards to respond to day-to-day reporting requests and cyclical production of statistics/reports to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Partners with IT to provide support to inbound/outbound integrations and payroll PECI files.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, in particular broader IT and acts as gatekeeper to the AMS provider for issues escalation and/or delivery of configuration changes.
  • Delivers training and engagement activities to ensure key stakeholders are fully utilising Workday. Seek opportunities to upskill users to be self-sufficient. Contributes to the production of training materials and content.
  • Leads and guides the team on configuration and management of cyclical technology enabled business processes.
  • Oversee the work production of more junior colleagues in the team and the support of their development.
  • Engage with Workday community to understand system capabilities and recommend solutions to address business needs.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical understanding of HR systems and their integrations with other system applications.
  • Experience of Workday within a medium/large complex organisation, ideally in a law firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of Workday functional components with configuration and business process experience in HCM, Compensation, Time and Absence, Security (essential), Recruitment, Onboarding, Talent (desirable).
  • Workday certification and/or training essential.
  • Advanced IT skills including MS Excel, VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables, Slicers.
  • Highly numerate with strong data accuracy and data analytics. Excellent attention to detail.
  • In-depth functional knowledge of end-to-end HR processes.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into systems solutions.
  • Good organisational, planning and project management skills.
  • Highly effective communication skills and ability to influence across a global team.
  • The ability to clearly present appropriate information to a range of audiences including translating data/technical system components into clear and meaningful information, particularly when converting raw data into insights and communicating story telling
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to look at the wider picture.
  • An inquisitive and challenging mind, with an interest in questioning and improving the “as is”.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload in a fast-paced environment with strong ability to multitask.
  • Flexibility on working hours required to support globally with key stakeholders in varying time zones. Early starts and/or late finishes will be required.
