It is, therefore, crucial that we maintain our high standards. Drivers must operate legally, safely and ensure they portray a smart image, as they are the most direct contact with our customers.We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual for a HGV Class One Driver at Manchester. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced distribution environment being integral to the team in distribution of chocolate and pladis finished products within the network.It is for this reason that we provide drivers with smart uniforms, relevant PPE and expect them to keep their vehicles in a condition in keeping with our dedication to safety and quality. On the road we expect our drivers to conduct themselves in a professional manner showing courtesy and good manners to all road users.What will be your key deliverables?Undertake vehicle checks prior to leaving the depot and where needed at 3rd party locations. Refuel, wash and report any defects on return to the site.Complete all relevant documentation as required, e.g. delivery notes, pallet notes, offload notes, defect reports.Communicate any delays, rejected orders, discrepancies to the confirmations department.Follow legislation ensuring drivers hours and vehicle maintenance are adhered to and conform with operator licence requirements.Drive in a professional manner, abide by the law and the highway code and with due regard to the safety of self and others in order to minimise accidents and vehicle damage and to promote a professional company image.Report all accidents and near misses.Maintain the security of the vehicle and load at all times.Undertake shunting duties at factories and on-site as requiredBring your experienceEssentialThe successful applicant will work as part of a dynamic team and be able to perform the various roles required.
