LOCATION: London based / hybrid working (office based 2days/wk)
CONTRACT: Full-Time, Permanent
SALARY: c.£70k – £75k (subject to experience)Great British Racing (GBR) is the central promotional and marketing body for British Horseracing. Its aims are to broaden racing’s popularity and, in doing so, help increase engagement with and participation in the sport through racegoing, short form and long form viewing and shared racehorse ownership.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Great British Racing (GBR) are looking to recruit a Head of Marketing who will be responsible for helping to shape GBR’s marketing strategy and leading the development & execution of the associated plans, with a primary focus on raising the profile of British Racing, attracting new fans, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the sport.
The role oversees all aspects of the Marketing team’s activity, collaborating closely with other teams (including PR & Communications, Digital & Social, Insight, Ops & Innovation) to ensure cohesive, impactful, and innovative marketing campaigns, consistent with GBR’s overall marcomms strategy & objectives. This includes oversight of strategic partnerships & event-based marketing activity such as National Racehorse Week and Shared Ownership, as well as the marketing of pilot initiatives &/or the launch of new products & services.
The ideal candidate will already have significant experience in a senior marketing role within the Sport, Entertainment, Media or Leisure sectors. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to campaign execution, multi-channel marketing skills, and brand management experience. This role has a direct impact on the growth of the sport by extending its reach, raising its profile and driving recruitment through high-level marketing initiatives.
