The Head of Leisure and Wellbeing role provides a unique and exciting opportunity to inspire Ealing’s residents, through the promotion of healthy lifestyles and delivering exceptional leisure opportunities. The successful candidate will take on the leadership of Ealing’s leisure service at an exciting time, with the redevelopment of the flagship Gurnell Leisure Centre underway, the conclusion of the innovative procurement of the tri-borough leisure partnership; and the groundbreaking movement that is driving physical activity across the borough.
You will be instrumental in delivering forward thinking strategies for the council’s leisure service, collaborating with key partners, service leaders and stakeholders to set high expectations and ensure that vision translates into active lifestyles for our communities.
You will inspire your teams to support and improve the outcomes for all people accessing leisure services, delivering positive experiences that make a real difference to our diverse communities across our seven towns, managing within available resources and optimising the operation and impact of our diverse leisure assets.The Role:We want someone who has the experience and drive to build on what’s good and to have a laser focus on how to make it even better; someone who is able to successfully lead change which really delivers better outcomes for local people with experience of public health, leisure management, and community engagement at a senior level and first rate leadership, communication and collaboration skills with a commitment to creating inclusive and accessible services and the drive to make a lasting difference through leisure and wellbeing. You will be ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent.Key priorities include: the mobilisation of the tri-borough leisure contract, supporting the redevelopment of Gurnell Leisure Centre, putting resident voices at the heart of delivery; driving further innovation across the leisure services; and ensuring Ealing stays at the forefront of West London’s leisure offer.
The role will require significant enthusiasm and determination. We want to ensure that our leisure services are vibrant, enticing, and outstanding. This role is key to making this happen.
