The position:Applicants have a research profile in media studies and a visible record of achievements in cultural studies research on digital and network-based media. Research on the historical formation of digital media as well as on theories and aesthetics of digital media are equally considered a prerequisite for successfully embedding the professorship within the University of Vienna. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate a focus on at least two other areas of research in media culture studies: Interactions between digital media, audiovisual media and the performative arts; transformation processes in the areas of everyday life, art, politics and society that take place under the conditions of digital media; conditions and practices of digital knowledge culture; platform studies; body- and geopolitics of digital media.Your academic profile:

• Doctoral degree/PhD
• Outstanding research achievements, excellent publication and funding record, international reputation
• Proven leadership qualities
• Gender and diversity competence
• Experience in designing and managing large research projects
• Enthusiasm for excellent teaching and supervision at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral level
• Willingness to take on organisational and administrative responsibilities within the Faculty and/or the University
