The position:This professorship represents the field of Modern Greek Studies in the areas of history, culture and literature from 1453 to the present, with the appropriate geographical coverage. Excellent knowledge of Modern Greek is required. Applicants should apply, in an interdisciplinary perspective, various approaches and methods that allow the study of all kinds of sources. Publications in the history, culture or literature of the period before the founding of the Greek state will be an asset. Applicants are expected to contribute actively to suitable Key Research Areas. Furthermore, excellence in scholarly research, commitment to teaching at all levels, commitment to developing the field, especially by obtaining research projects, strong engagement and support for early career researchers as well as the willingness to collaborate with colleagues within the Institute structures and in teaching are expected.Your academic profile:

• Doctoral degree/PhD
• Outstanding research achievements, excellent publication and funding record, international reputation
• Proven leadership qualities

• Experience in designing and managing large research projects
• Enthusiasm for excellent teaching and supervision at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral level
• Willingness to take on organisational and administrative responsibilities within the Faculty and/or the University
