The position:The professorship covers the subject area of “Greek History” with a focus on “Greek Antiquity and Epigraphy”. As a subfield of the subject “Ancient History”, Greek History is part of the broader context of the history and cultures of the ancient Mediterranean and its neighbouring areas and is considered on a broad methodological and source basis (with a predominant emphasis on all genres of written sources). Applicants are expected to cover all areas of Greek History from the Late Bronze Age to the Roman imperial period as well as topics in Greek Antiquity and Epigraphy. In addition, a willingness to supervise BA and MA dissertations and PhD theses, to organize excursions, to acquire third-party funding projects, to promote young academics and to participate in research networks is required. A willingness to collaborate in research and teaching with colleagues within the faculty structure, to take on administrative roles, to participate in the key research areas of the faculty, and to participate in the “Vienna Doctoral School of Historical and Cultural Studies” is also expected.Your academic profile:
