Role: Fire Service EngineerLocation: DartfordSalary: £38,000 – £44,000 per annum + overtime available + company health care plan + referral schemeTechnical Resources are recruiting for a Fire Service Engineer to join a dynamic team in Dartford. This role involves investigating, fault-finding, and maintaining a variety of fire and security systems, including Fire Detection and Alarm, Emergency Lighting, Nurse Call, Access Control, and Intercom systems. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in fire system maintenance, repair, and installation, along with knowledge of industry standards such as BS5839 and BS5266-1.Responsibilities:

• Investigate and fault-find on Fire Detection and Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on fire and security systems.
• Commission and install conventional and analogue addressable fire alarm systems.
• Maintain and repair Nurse Call and Staff attack systems, including Intercall, C-Tec (Quantec), SAS.
• Work with Access Control and Intercom systems such as Paxton, RGL, Fermax, Videx.
• Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours callouts and telephone support.
• Comply with industry standards (e.g., BS5839-1, BS5266-1) and regulatory rules.
• Protect sensitive customer information and assets from unauthorised access or interference.
• Understand and fulfil clients’ needs while adhering to site conditions.
• Report health, safety, and security risks to the organisation.

Experience and Certifications Required:

• Proven background and experience within the fire industry.
• Strong fault-finding, risk management, and first-time resolution skills.
• Experience with conventional and addressable fire systems across multiple manufacturers.
• Knowledge of Nurse Call systems and their integration with other disciplines (e.g., interfaces, shutdowns).
• Full understanding of BS5839 and BS5266-1.
• Experience in good installation practices, following BS7671 where necessary.
• Full UK driving licence.
• FIA modules or equivalent qualifications as required by industry standards.
• Knowledge of Advanced, Kentec, C-Tec, Apollo, Hochiki, Gent by Honeywell, VESDA, and other aspirating systems (desirable)
• Experience with access control systems of all types (desirable)
• Electrical or electronic systems background (desirable)
• ICEL accreditation for emergency lighting (desirable)
• Good overall knowledge of fire products (desirable)
