We have an exciting opportunity for you to make a real impact as the DEI Advisor for our Electricity Distribution (ED) division at National Grid!In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the DEI Business Partner for ED and take charge of embedding and driving our DEI strategy throughout the business. You’ll have the chance to lead high-profile projects that shape our DEI initiatives, providing your expertise on a wide range of topics that matter. Collaborate with other centres of excellence on innovative initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion across our organisation.As a key point of contact for DEI within the business, you’ll travel to various sites, working closely with our HR Business Partners at a regional level to support and implement our DEI goals. You’ll also be an integral part of the Global DEI Team, helping to integrate essential initiatives, including our vibrant Employee Resource Groups, into the NGED business.If you’re ready to take the lead in driving meaningful change and creating a more inclusive environment, we want to hear from you!   • Embed initiatives from the NGED DEI plan, including training and regional support.
  • Lead and support the NGED DEI Network, shaping strategy and growing membership.
  • Serve as the DEI point of contact for HR Business Partners, aiding local DEI plan delivery.
  • Collaborate with NGED communications on BIG Respect focus months to ensure accessible content.
  • Analyse employee surveys (Grid:Voice, Grid:Pulse) to identify trends for stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Global ERG manager to integrate Employee Resource Groups in NGED.
  • Represent NGED needs in Group DEI initiatives.
  • Manage SharePoint to provide DEI resources and information to employees.
  • Prepare data and reports for the annual reporting cycle.
  • Work with the NGED DEI Business Partner to implement Group-led DEI initiatives effectively.

About You

  • Deep passion for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and its relevance to National Grid.
  • Strong understanding of key DEI topics, including LGBTQ+, Race, Disability, Neurodiversity, Social Mobility, Religion, and Gender.
  • Experience with Employee Resource Groups and their organisational value.
  • Excellent project management and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skill in simplifying complex DEI topics for training and upskilling.
  • Strong presentation skills, comfortable addressing audiences of 50+.
  • Proficient in data analysis and translating insights into actionable strategies.

More InformationThis role is offered on a Full-Time, Permanent basisWe are also offering hybrid /flexible working where travel to the office will be as per business need. Base location for this role will be Avonbank, Bristol.#LI-NH2#LI-HYBRIDWhat You’ll GetA competitive salary between £41,048 – £48,683 – dependent on capabilityAs well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
