Director, Talent, Learning & Development

The Director, Talent, Learning & Development (T,L&D), is a key member of the APAC Human Resources Leadership team and the Global Talent, Learning and Culture team within Global Human Resources (GHR).

We are seeking a strategic Director with extensive experience in organisational talent and learning to evolve the broader T,L&D strategy which incorporates the alignment between global and regional needs. The Director will partner with internal key stakeholders and external learning partners to design, develop, and deliver curricula and learning solutions for all regional learning and development programs. The Director will also play a critical role in developing and implementing Talent Management strategies that align with our organization’s goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Learning and Development

  • Work with Leadership to implement a forward-thinking development strategy for all levels within the organization in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals

  • Participate as an active member of the global team ensuring alignment between regional and global learning initiatives

  • Translate corporate business strategies and leadership requirements into practical development solutions

  • Conduct needs/gap analysis to determine learning and development solutions

  • Development of short- and long-range strategic training plan aligned with regional and global objectives, including developing curricula, training concepts, objectives, programs as well as executions

  • Manage all aspects of budgeting, planning, and executing of learning programs, in coordination with HR team members in the region and global partners

  • Provide metrics, resource deployment and analytics to demonstrate impact and value of programs

  • Measure Return-On-Investment (ROI) of the development programs

  • Analyse and interpret assessment reports for learning and development purposes

Talent Management

  • Maintain a comprehensive talent management framework including performance management, employee development, succession planning, and career pathways in full alignment with global practices

  • Oversee the implementation of global performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms.

  • Collaborate with leaders and managers to identify high-potential employees and create development plans to accelerate their growth and advance their careers.

  • Implement global succession planning and talent assessment processes to identify critical roles, address succession gaps and prepare for future development

  • Facilitate global and regional Talent Review sessions in partnership with HRBPs

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent management and make recommendations for continuous improvement to drive organizational performance

  • Partner with senior leadership to align talent management strategies with business objectives and drive organizational change and transformation

  • Oversee and facilitate the global Managing Director and Director promotion process for the region

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and assess T, L&D program effectiveness through metrics and feedback mechanisms, making adjustments as needed to ensure desired outcomes

  • Evolve programs to ensure relevance in meeting changing demands and needs of the organisation and external markets

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in T, L&D incorporating new methodologies and technologies as appropriate.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum degree in one of the following areas: Adult Education, Training & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Sociology or Psychology

Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in Talent, Learning & Developent field; leadership training and organizational development

Strategic, data-driven, with a strong commercial mindset in advocating Return-On-Investment (ROI) and managing training as a business

Expertise in developing Talent, Learning & Development financial budgets and prioritizing spending to invest in strategic organizational capabilities

Strong connection and understanding about external learning and development climate, up to date about the latest organisational learning and executive development trends in the market

Experience in designing and implementing talent management initiatives

Proven success managing strategic, tactical, and logistical Talent, Learning & Development issues

Demonstrate good verbal and written communication

Excellent time and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs

Adaptive, with desire to collaborate for success to achieve results in a matrix and culturally diverse international work environment
