Job description

We are seeking an experienced Director of ASIC Development to lead our innovative chiplet-development plans. This role will focus on designing next-generation ASICs/Chiplets for leading edge AI and GPU technologies.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design and development of modular chiplet-based ASIC solutions optimized for performance per watt and performance per mm2
  • Drive chiplet interface strategies, including die-to-die communication protocols that balance performance, power efficiency, and manufacturing costs
  • Oversee cross-functional teams to drive the chiplet development to a successful product line
  • Develop a set of partners to accelerate and de-risk our chiplet development
  • Manage relationships with foundry partners, IP providers, and EDA vendors
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost-effective testing and validation of multi-die chiplet solutions

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in ASIC/SoC design with at least 5 years in leadership positions
  • Proven track record delivering complex silicon products, preferably using chiplet architecture
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, particularly as they relate to chiplet integration (interposer technologies, advanced packaging)
  • Knowledge of die-to-die interfaces (UCIe, BoW, AIB, etc.)
  • Experience working with leading-edge process nodes (5nm and below)
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with HBM memory integration and high-bandwidth memory architectures
  • Knowledge of thermal management techniques for high-performance compute modules
  • Understanding of hardware security requirements for AI systems
  • Familiarity with silicon photonics or other emerging interconnect technologies
  • Experience with open-source hardware development models
  • Prior work on products that successfully transitioned from development to high-volume manufacturing
