Please use the Cover letter to outline how your skills, experience and knowledge meets the essential criteria of the role *1st Interviews to be held online Friday 3rd January 20252nd Interviews to be held online Thursday 9th January 2025This role will support the RCVS Academy function, which falls under the ‘Compassion’ strand of the , as follows:Help our regulated professionals to meet the standards expected of them by their peers, the public and society at large by launching the RCVS Academy, which will house a range of online educational tools to help veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and other potential associates of the College understand what is expected of them in terms of meeting standards, and to support them acquiring relevant knowledge and staying up to date in a creative, accessible and inspiring way.Job purposeAn opportunity to lead the design, development, and integration of digital learning courses for the RCVS Academy online learning management system (LMS).Working within the Academy team and collaborating with stakeholders to create innovative and engaging digital learning to meet identified learning outcomes and applying best digital learning design practice. Working with the digital team to lead the front-end LMS design to ensure relevant, up-to-date applications for optimal learner experience.This is an exciting opportunity to join the Academy team, leading the design and development of courses. A creative mindset with a flexible, positive approach is required to meet the varied responsibilities of this role. Innovation and an enthusiasm to explore the use of new digital learning and development solutions is essential to support the continuous improvement of the Academy.Key responsibilities * Design, create and maintain a range of engaging digital learning content within a learning management system.

  • Apply instructional design theories, practice and methods for interactive learning solutions
  • Create and edit accessible and diverse video content aligned with best practice
  • Design content that supports the learner journey and enhances the learner experience
  • Create content in line with branding and ensuring consistency across the Academy platform

2. Work with stakeholders to understand and respond to learning outcomes and project requirements. * Develop and maintain good working relationships with College departments

  • Work with subject-matter experts to develop content, ensuring best digital learning practice
  • Advise on and implement appropriate digital learning tools to maximise content efficacy
  • Work with the Digital team to ensure that materials are hosted in a way that best meets practice

3. Maintain and support continuous improvement of content to increase learner engagement and experience. * Test and maintain digital learning content to ensure functionality

  • Review learner feedback to identify and suggest any digital learning improvements
  • Explore digital learning solutions in response to data and the learning needs analysis
  • Maintain an awareness of emerging best practice and innovations in digital learning design

4. Work across multiple projects to ensure content is delivered on time. * Organise and prioritise workload to meet the deadlines within each project

  • Work with project plans, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Work collaboratively and productively with multiple teams to ensure project completion
  • Work within a quality assurance framework that ensures relevant and high-quality content

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or worked in an industry where you have led in multimedia design, digital learning design or web design/development.

Essential Criteria-Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience with a range of IT systems and Microsoft packages
  • Extensive experience working with a learning management system (Moodle)
  • Highly skilled in designing multimedia for educational purposes
  • Excellent graphic design and video-editing skills
  • Experienced in using a range of authoring software/creative programs
  • Excellent written and oral development skills and experience writing instructional text, effective audio and video scripts
  • Ability to work autonomously and organise own workload effectively across multiple projects
  • Ability to work accurately with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of working as part of a team and willingness to provide support to colleagues
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, positive and solution-focussed
  • Creative mindset and innovative with an enthusiasm for own professional development

Desired Criteria-Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Qualification in digital learning design
  • Experience of working within the veterinary or medical sectors
  • Experience of working within an educational establishment
  • Experience with editing video content, using HTML and Adobe packages
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders
