  • activities related to the local security strategy
  • third party risk management for security risks
  • The security culture and the management of local security portfolio projects and related local budget needs
  • Delivery of local security solutions
  • Support Group Security in delivering group-wide initiatives in UniCredit Bank Austria in line with Group Security strategy and programs and regulatory requirements

What you’ll be doingAre you a recent graduate or early-career professional passionate about cybersecurity and information security governance? Join our Security Threat, Assurance & Delivery team at Bank Austria and help shape the future of secure banking.In this role you will:

  • Support key cybersecurity initiatives
  • Contribute to audits and compliance efforts
  • Help ensure our data and systems remain secure and aligned with regulatory standards
  • Work closely with our Group Security colleagues at UniCredit Italy
  • Gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, international environment
  • Support internal and external security audits and help track remediation activities.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, DORA).
  • Contribute to risk assessments and help document security controls and findings.
  • Participate in security awareness and training initiatives across the organization.
  • Help monitor and report on data protection and information security governance metrics.
  • Collaborate with senior team members and Group Security to align local practices with group-wide standards.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree (or final-year student) in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Interest in Cybersecurity: A strong motivation to grow in areas like governance, compliance, audits, and data protection.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate technical and non-technical topics in both English and German.
  • Team Spirit: Willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a supportive team environment.
  • Analytical Thinking: Attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.

The following skills/experience would be a plus:

  • Internship or academic project experience in cybersecurity, IT risk, or compliance.
  • Familiarity with frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, or COBIT.
  • Basic understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Interest in pursuing certifications such as CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, or CompTIA Security+

  • In terms of salary, we are in line with the market, depending on specific experience, training and qualifications, at least EUR 48.650,- gross per year with the willingness to overpay at 38.5 hours per week.
