We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and are open to discuss flexible work options to help you balance your work and home life.Join the Close Brothers Credit Risk team where you will prepare and approve credit papers for transactions up to £200k, with a view to underwrite good-quality, high-value business at an acceptable return whilst providing excellent customer service.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply industry knowledge to the review of credit applications and contextualise the financial and trading performance of corporate/SME clients.
- Review and challenge the output of the internal scorecard applying expert judgement when necessary.
- Actively review current processes, recommend/ implement amendments to improve efficiency and productivity where applicable.
- Undertake broker/client calls to facilitate an adequate and fair assessment of credit requests.
- Assist, when requested, with training/coaching of junior team members and non-credit staff.
- Support Close Brothers Premium Finance to remain compliant with all applicable regulations and FCA principles.
- Complete lessons learnt and root cause analysis of risk events, partnering with Operational colleagues to ensure actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
- Experience in commercial underwriting in a financial environment
- Strong numerical and Analytical skills
- Understanding of Macro Economic Climate
- Ability to engage with internal and external customers and build good working relationships
- Ability to work under tight SLAs
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
- Experience in the Insurance sector
- Preparation of basic cash flow projections
- General understanding of loan agreements and security types
- Ability to work without supervision
