Based in Cheadle, Cheshire, our 750 colleagues help our customers throughout the UK, backed by the power of a £7 billion loan book.Job DescriptionAs our Corporate Lending Director, you will work as part of our Charles Street division, which operates with great success supporting professional property developers, investors and SME’s to access bespoke funds for a wide variety of property based lending including Bridging finance, Buy-to-let, commercial mortgages, Development Loans and sub-charge loans.This role will principally be focused on managing the sub-charge product and business. With oversight and management of our Sub-charge and corporate portfolio clients, you will support the business to make good lending decisions both for sub-charge and direct corporate clients.As our Corporate Lending Director, we are looking for someone to:

• Manage the Charles Street sub-charge business: including the review and onboarding of new customers and relationship management of existing customers
• Ensure the successful management of the sub-charge portfolio – evaluating and approving loan applications on a case-by-case basis. Co-ordinating audits, supporting processes and policies to ensure efficient and effective operations. Supporting the legal and on-boarding process from inception through to completion
• Portfolio manage all sub-charge clients attending regular meetings with their principles and evaluating their credit worthiness and our appetite to continue support to those clients
• Have oversight of the underwriting process for both sub-charge and direct corporate lending; supporting the assessment and underwriting of larger, complex loan applications. Providing guidance to the team to support sound lending decisions
• Manage the application and performance of aggregate credit limits (ACLs) across portfolio accounts both directly with Charles Street and the sub-charge lenders
• Keep and produce accurate data and MI to ensure all clients are appropriately managed and monthly reporting can be provided to the MD to help and support the strategic direction of the business
• Support the Managing Director with the growth and risk management of the sub-charge business
• Work closely with the whole team consisting of underwriting and portfolio divisions to ensure clients receive best in class service levels and our company reaches its targets of steady and safe growth with minimal risk

QualificationsEssential

• Lending/underwriting experience across residential and commercial assets
• Experience of working in the specialist lending / bridging industry
• Strong understanding of credit risk management principles across the credit lifecycle
• Relationship management experience
• Leadership experience of managing/working as part of a high performing corporate lending team
• Ability to influence at all levels
