Job Description:Position DescriptionJERAGM is implementing and maintaining a series of vendor based and in house IT systems to enable the rapid growth into a global leader in the energy trading.At the core of the system landscape is a set of vendor and proprietary systems that support critical business activities such as trading, risk management, pricing, and logistics. JERAGM have and will continue to make significant investments building on top of these systems to tailor them to the specific needs of its business.The mission of the Core Platform team is to deliver IT solutions that empower our users to effectively conduct all aspects of their business processes across JERAGM’s transactions lifecycle. This encompasses functions ranging from front to back-office, such as trade capture, STP, valuation, risk, and settlement.Key Role ResponsibilitiesThe Core Platform Analyst Developer will:
- Work to obtain excellent business knowledge of the full transaction cycle within a multi-commodity energy trading environment such that they can converse directly with users and other stakeholders with minimal handholding from Business Analysts.
- Create new features within Allegro Horizon, our Energy Trading and Risk Management system (ETRM), to facilitate company growth, including but not limited to:
- Creating new bespoke views
- Customizing the ETRM user interface using built-in Allegro functions or ClassEvents (C# .NET)
- Modifying the ETRM data model using built-in Allegro functions or directly in the SQLServer database
- Implementing new server-side functions, structured around dedicated web services and ClassEvents.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing Allegro customizations to ensure the production environment remains responsive, performant, and resilient.
- Apply their strong software engineering skills to:
- Enhance Allegro’s integration with other systems.
- Strengthen the ability to unit test customization code.
- Improve the structure of current customizations.
- Contribute to the development of custom applications associated with the ETRM, such as APIs, loaders, reports, and data pipelines & BI tools. Adaptability to rapidly acquire new technical skills is crucial, with potential exposure to technologies like Azure IaaS/PaaS, Crystal Reports, Python, Azure databricks, Azure datafactory and Power BI
- Support initiatives to enhance end-to-end test automation and continuous integration across the application landscape.
- Demonstrate a broad set of technical skills including C# .NET development, database development and Powershell Automation/Devops skills.
- Have a strong engineering focus and eye for high quality delivery. They will be expected to deliver high quality software and adhere to modern software engineering practices. They must also be driven to automate everything as this is ingrained in the culture of the team.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to self-organise when required.
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the JERA GM technical team, whilst also demonstrating end-to-end ownership of entire problems where required.
- Show a highly proactive attitude in learning and immersing themselves in the vendor platforms with the aim of gaining an expert knowledge of how to develop and support extensions and integrations.
- Adapt to agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, while remaining flexible to other approaches as needed.
- Provide 3rd line production support.
Qualifications:
- Required Proven extensive experience with Allegro ETRMs.
- Required Extensive experience with C# .NET
- Strong understanding of the core language and framework.
- Service oriented development (WCF, Web API or ASMX).
- Data access development (ADO.NET, EF or equivalent such as NHibernate).
- Required Extensive SQLServer database design and development skills (excellent SQL skills assumed). A good working knowledge of database performance optimisation is also recommended.
- Required Experience working with agile delivery methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban.
- Required Proven work experience in the energy trading, commodities trading or corporate banking sector.
- Recommended Experience with Azure databricks and datafactory
- Recommended Experience with Windows Server infrastructure.
- Recommended Experience with Azure PaaS and IaaS and corresponding automation toolkits.
- Desirable Experience in Powershell or willingness to learn.
- Desirable Experience in Python or willingness to learn.
- Desirable Experience with Specflow or Cucumber.
