Job Description Summary The main purpose of this role is to lead and manage a globally integrated Contract Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) operations, ensuring efficient production of biotechnology, small molecules, and cell & gene products for other companies. In this role you will be responsible for strategic growth, aiming to be among the top three most trusted CMO’s.The position involves providing leadership across all sites and functions to optimize end-to-end supply of products as well as ensuring compliance with cGMP regulations while maintaining a competitive edge in quality, cost-effective manufacturing and supply. Finally, you must cultivate an inclusive, high-performing team, inspiring others and fostering the development of talent and capability.Job DescriptionLocation: Schaftenau, Tirol, Austria; Warsaw, Poland OR Ljubljana, Slovenia #HybridKey Responsibilities:Leads the CDMO Operations in Novartis and continues expanding our CMO-framework, a fully integrated Contract Manufacturing Organization from Phase I to large scale manufacturing with a global footprint, which provides E2E biotechnology, small molecules and cell & gene products to other companies.Provides leadership to the CDMO global team and Navigate site, being a role model and further developing into a high-performing team with the right talents and capabilities.Define the Vision and Strategy of the CMO unit with a professionalization of the commercial model through innovation and knowledgeStrong collaboration with several key internal and external stakeholdersEssential Requirements:Academic Degree level required as a minimum (Graduate in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmacy or Engineering to B.Sc. level, MBA)Fluent English, additional languages preferredMinimum 15 years of experience in Commercial and Technical Operations in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industryIn-depth know-how and experience in CMO business and commercial models including financial managementProven leadership and change management experience and prior success in building and managing teamsAbility to work in a global, matrix environmentDesirable Requirements:Strong cultural/intercultural awarenessImagine what you could do here at Novartis!

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 112,861.28 /year (on a full time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
