You’ll become part of a passionate and supportive team in a fast-paced, dynamic and result-driven environment.About the roleAs the Commercial Finance Manager at Believ, you will play a critical role in shaping the commercial strategy for our B2G (Business to Government), B2B (Business to Business), and Property/Land deals. Your main responsibilities will include developing compelling and competitive commercial offers, conducting market insights analysis to support strategic decision-making, and supporting on the commercial aspects of contract negotiations and contract handover briefings at contract signature. You will work closely with key internal stakeholders to ensure Believ’s commercial proposals are innovative, competitive, and aligned with market demands, whist still working within acceptable financial parameters.What We Look For

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCommercial Offer Development:

  • Collaborating with the Sales, Marketing and Tenders teams to create compelling commercial proposals while identifying cost-saving efficiencies and revenue-generating opportunities that enhance bid profitability, positioning Believ as a leading and innovative CPO
  • Providing other commercial support for bidding and tender processes, including contract requirements and pricing analysis
  • Support the private sector sales team on site acquisitions and leases, modelling different scenarios and presenting back to senior management

Commercial Modelling:

  • Develop and create financial appraisal models to support bid proposals and business development activities
  • Continuously refine and optimise commercial modelling tools to improve accuracy and relevance

Market Insight Analysis:

  • Bring strategic and commercial insight to support senior leaders creating business cases for new propositions, bids/commercial activities, capital investment etc
  • Creating PowerBI dashboard to inform commercial decisions, pipeline reviews and enhance market insight
  • Conducting commercial data analysis for both internal and external stakeholders

Stakeholder collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales, business development, finance, and technical teams to align commercial strategies with organisational objectives
  • Support in the preparation of briefing documents to the Board describing the commercials in new contracts when seeking Board approval, or where strategic deals are being flagged to the Board at a pre bid stage
  • Support in preparing Board slides reporting Commercial team pipeline
  • Evaluating and negotiating commercial contracts on commercial terms in collaboration with the finance team

Continuous Improvement:

  • Review commercial proposals and ensure financial compliance and control pre and post contract award, and with alignment with the commercial playbook
  • Maintaining updated commercial and contractual trackers

Departmental Management:

  • Preparation and reporting of commercial KPIs from the Commercial team
  • Evaluating and negotiating commercial contracts on commercial terms in collaboration with the finance team

Key success factors

  • Effective bid commercials leading to successful outcomes in line with business objectives.
  • Report key performance indicators (KPIs) to track commercial performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Effective close working with the wider business to ensure the conditions for success are in place to enable the business achieve its wider objectives.

Qualifications and EducationBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.Experience

  • Proven experience in a commercial or bid management role, preferably within the EV charging, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for financial modelling and market analysis.
  • Strong understanding of electric vehicle market dynamics, trends, and technologies.
  • Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

SkillsTo excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Analyst or in a similar role
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent project management expertise
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of the EV infrastructure and renewable energy industry helpful
  • Strong commercial acumen and decisiveness
  • Proficiency in numeracy and analytical tasks
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

LocationThe business is currently based in our office in Southwark. The position is full time, hybrid with 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) based in the office.
