The Growth Company’s (GC) Business Growth Hub team have an exciting new opportunity for an Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Specialist to support business owners with demonstrable experience, knowledge and credibility within all areas of organisational development practice, within a specific sector, to support business growth and good employment practice. This role requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business base and sector, and the types of work, skills, needs, opportunities and barriers/challenges within that specialism which are affecting businesses.GC Business Growth Hub is a community of specialists with a passion to help businesses across Greater Manchester to realise their ambitions. Since 2011, the Hub has supported more than 15,000 businesses including start-ups, scale-ups and established businesses, providing finance guidance, creating international links, and paving the way for innovation and people development across the region. We work with the best of public and private partners, offering expert one-to-one and peer-to-peer business support, events, specialist programmes, funding and much more.Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective relations with business owners/leaders and key contacts.
  • Promote the work of the Workforce Development team and facilitate high-quality referrals.
  • Partner with the sector development lead to build on the sector development plan.
  • Support advanced manufacturing businesses through workforce planning.
  • Identify and support businesses in addressing workforce development challenges.
  • Focus on inclusivity by supporting businesses to employ locally based staff.
  • Work with diverse training providers to provide brokerage training solutions.
  • Handle client enquiries and assess growth potential, workforce, and business needs.

About You:

  • Expertise in facilitating, coaching, and organisational change management.
  • In-depth understanding of the workforce development arena.
  • Experience in the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering sector.
  • Demonstrable experience in completing organisational and training needs assessments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other specialists.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and networking skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, administrative, and project management skills.
  • Well-developed IT skills, including CRM databases.

Skills Required:

  • Degree/CIPD level qualifications or relevant business experience.
  • Business experience in the Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering arena.
  • Proven track record in managing workforce issues during periods of growth.
  • Effective teamwork and professional approach to managing business development.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, policies, and processes.
  • Understanding of training provision within the Greater Manchester region.
  • Technical knowledge in creating and delivering workforce development plans.
  • Customer-focused approach to working with businesses.
