If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as a Border Operations Coordinator.Be part of the movement – and play your part.About the roleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Border Coordinator to ensure compliance with customs and immigration procedures while facilitating the smooth transit of cargo and passengers. This role requires close coordination with UK Border Force, effective communication with customers, and accurate processing of customs documentation. You will play a key role in ensuring that all bookings, clearances, and compliance protocols align with operational and regulatory requirements. This role requires you to work a 4 on 4 off pattern, working 12 hours per shift.You will be responsible for

  • Coordinating with UK Border Force regarding transit document control, customs holds, and seizures.
  • Ensuring customs clearances, ID creation, and processing of units are completed in compliance with regulations.
  • Overseeing system integrations between DFDS, Port Community, and customs systems, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Managing bookings, ensuring vessel capacities and customer allocations align with schedules.
  • Monitoring terminal loading systems to maintain accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
  • Preparing and distributing all import/export documentation while escalating compliance issues as needed.

With strong time management skills, you can prioritise tasks effectively while maintaining high standards of work. You enjoy working as part of a team and bring a positive, can-do attitude to your role, making collaboration and problem-solving second nature to you.You have a solid understanding of Microsoft Office and are confident in handling data, documentation, and system processes with precision. While previous experience in the shipping industry or customs processes is desirable, you are eager to learn and adapt quickly to new challenges.
