The positionAs of now we are seeking a talented and engaged Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) Modelling researcher to join our Vienna Discovery Research Team for Oncology Research. In your role, you will collaborate to enable decisions regarding the selection of clinical drug candidates, the most promising mode of actions and meaningful dosage regimens for achieving the desired therapeutic effect to ultimately improve the life of cancer patients. We seek for an open-minded, constant learner personality with experience in PK/PD modelling who is stimulated by an inter-disciplinary global scientific environment in one of the world’s most liveable cities.Tasks & responsibilities
- Representing preclinical PK/PD modelling in discovery research NCE (New Chemical Entities) project teams in oncology research at Boehringer Ingelheim (e.g., small molecules, peptides, PROTACs, siRNAs, …)
- Collaborating closely with our oncology research teams located in Austria, Germany, and the US, turning modeling insights into practical research hypotheses and championing the use of PK/PD data to guide decision-making
- Contributing to informative study designs of preclinical PK and/or PD experiments, providing human PK and efficacious dose predictions and assessing PK/PD relations and DMPK properties of our candidate drugs
- Translate findings of preclinical experiments and collaborate with clinical pharmacology and preclinical development
- Providing mentorship and fostering the professional growth of (junior) research scientists, including for instance master and PhD students
- Internally and externally represent and promote impactful applications of preclinical PKPD modelling at Boehringer Ingelheim
- Depending on your level of experience, you may also lead and coordinate efforts in Research DMPK disciplines within international project teams
Requirements
- PhD in clinical pharmacometrics, preclinical PK/PD modelling, or any closely related field. A post-doctoral or industry experience is considered beneficial
- Alternatively, a PhD in related fields (such as applied mathematics) with extensive pharmacometrics experience in academia and/or industry and DMPK
- Solid skills in one relevant programming language (R, Python, MATLAB)
- Excellent English communication skills
- Motivation to learn, collaborate in international teams and to invest into your personal development
- First experience in working in and leading matrix-style project teams is considered beneficial

The remuneration for this position starts at EUR 65.000 gross annual target salary per year (full time). The actual salary package depends on professional experience and qualifications.
