Offer DescriptionA research position in accordance with § 99 (5) of the 2002 Universitätsgesetz (according to § 27 of the collective agreement for the University employees – Uni-KV) at the Chair of Materials Science and Testing of Polymers of the Department Polymer Engineering and Science is open to be filled at the earliest date. Reference Number: 2411WPJAt the Montanuniversität Leoben, the Chair of Materials Science and Testing of Polymers at the Department Polymer Engineering and Science is seeking to fill a career position according to § 99(5) of the 2002 UG (Qualification position according to § 27 – Uni-KV) as of the earliest possible date in a permanent, full-time employment relationship.The classification is based on the collective agreement for employees of the universities in salary group A2. In this classification, the collective agreement monthly salary for full employment is € 5.595,60 gross (14 times a year).The applicant should represent the research field Sustainable Polymers in all relevant areas of the Montanuniversität in teaching, research and transfer. Teaching in the bachelor’s and master’s degrees as well as in the subject area is expected. In particular, the following is expected:Research expertise in the field of plastics to increase resource efficiency and for sustainable development
Expertise in the development, production and characterization of technical biopolymers and composites based on renewable resources
Extensive knowledge of morphological and structural analysis of polymer materials (e.g. electron microscopy, spectroscopic methods, scanning probe technologies also in combination with spectroscopy (e.g. PiFM, TERS), X-ray structural analysis)
Sound experience with methods for characterizing polymer materials with regard to thermal, thermo-mechanical, mechanical and functional properties
International research experience and experience in cooperation with research institutions in Austria and abroad
Experience in establishing and expanding collaborations with industry for the purpose of acquiring third-party funding and in application-oriented research with industry
Willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation, especially with the chairs and departments of the Montanuniversitaet
Extensive experience as a lecturer at universities or other institutions in the higher education sector
Completed trainings and/or further education in the field of university didactics and modern forms of teaching
Ability to teach the courses assigned to the subject area in German and English
Experience in supervising students’ academic work, such as bachelor’s and master’s theses and dissertations, and willingness to continue to take on this task
Experience in participating in university organizational and administrative tasks and willingness to continue to take on tasks within university self-administrationRequirements for employment are:Habilitation in the field of “Physics of polymer materials”
Management skills and experience in leading team members
Experience in the acquisition and implementation of funded research projects as well as proof of successful industrial research collaborations or industrial research projects
Publications in international peer-reviewed journals
Experience in academic university teaching as well as strong didactic and pedagogical skills
International research experience and participation in research networks
Excellent written and spoken German and English skillsThe following documents must be submitted in German or English:
